YOU DISAPPEAR selected for the Toronto International Film Festival

The new Danish drama You Disappear (Du Forsvinder in Danish) has been selected to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.

You Disappear is directed by Peter Schønau Fog and stars Danish majors Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Trine Dyrholm. They play Frederik and Mia, who are happily married. Frederik is a successful headmaster who is caught embezzling from his own school. However, has he done this willingly or has his personality been altered by a tumour lurking in his brain? That is the question the film poses. The cast also includes Michael Nyqvist, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard and Lars Knutzen.

The film premiered back in Denmark in April and is yet to have a major international release. When it was released in Denmark, the film had positive reviews and sold around 192,000 tickets.

You Disappear is produced by Louise Vesth for Zentropa and has support from the Danish Film Institute.

The Toronto International Film Festival is known for its strong Nordic line-up, and we’ll be posting a full list of Nordic titles screening shortly.
