The refugee crisis in Europe was one of the biggest stories in 2015, with hundreds and thousands of refugees walking to Europe in search of a better life. The so-called crisis was a heated topic in the Scandinavian region, with Norway, Denmark and Sweden receiving thousands of refugees in a short amount of time.

The huge demand for housing led to Scandinavian hotels offering their rooms for rent. For example, the Norwegian billionaire Petter Stordalen, who owns Nordic Choice Hotels, offered a total of 5,000 nights to refugees who needed it . . .
