Watch the trailer for ‘The Purity of Vengeance’

The official trailer for The Purity of Vengeance has been released.

The fourth film in the ‘Department Q’ series, The Purity of Vengeance starts when some craftsmen make a scary discovery: behind a fake wall they find three mummified bodies sitting around a dining table with a free space ready. Our heroes Carl Mørck and Assad now have to find out who the mummies are and for whom the fourth place is intended. They soon discover that the previous inhabitants of the apartment trace back to an infamous women’s hospital at Sprogø island, where attempts at forced sterilisation were a regular part of the daily lives of the women who were brought to the hospital. The horror at the hospital is an overdue chapter in the history of Denmark, but there are people who say that the experiments are still up in our time. Carl and Assad start a race with time to prevent new murders and assaults.

The Purity of Vengeance stars Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Fares Fares in the leading roles. This will be the final film in the series that these two will lead, with Nordisk Film planning to release the remainder of Jussi Alder-Olsen’s novels with a different cast.

The Purity of Vengeance will be released in Danish cinemas in October, but already has film festival screenings in South Korea (Busan Film Festival) and Spain (Catalonian Film Festival).

Christoffer Boe directs this final instalment, which should be interesting as Boe is known for his art films.

Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think! I must say I am enjoying this old American noir feel that the film has – it already feels very different than the others.
