Upcoming Nordic television series selected for Series Mania

Some new Nordic television series have been selected for the Series Mania CoPro Pitching Sessions, which takes place between the 27th of April and the 5th of May.

From Iceland, we’ll see Black Port presented at the event. The series won the Series Mania CoPro Award at the Berlinale Drama Series Days, and will be presented at the event in partnership with that festival. The series is set in a small Icelandic fishing village between the 1980s and 1990s and follows a married couple. Early on, everything seems good for the villagers and the fishing industry is booming. However, as time goes on the government levies fishing quotas which become restrictive and have an impact on the quality of life of the villagers.

From Norway, the series Crimeshare will be pitched. Crimeshare is made by Anagram Norway, established in 2016 by Anne Kolbjørnsen and Ole Marius Araldsen, formely at Rubicon, the company behind Netflix’s Lilyhammer. Little is known of the series itself.

Two Swedish series will be presented at the event. First is We Got This!, which is produced by Jarowskij Sverige. The second series is With One Eye Open – Max Anger Series, which is adapted from the Martin Österdahl novel saga about enigmatic Swedish agent Max Anger, battling Russian forces of evil. The series is produced by Nice Drama, the Swedish production partner on Midnight Sun.
