Ulaa Salim to direct ‘Danmarks sønner’

The Danish director Ulaa Salim will direct the upcoming political thriller, Danmarks sønner, the Nordisk Film og TV Fond reports.

Set in Copenhagen, the film starts on the eve of the anniversary of a bomb attack in the Danish capital and the Parliamentary elections. The leader of the far-right movement is preparing for a victory that could see him selected as Prime Minister. Meanwhile, Zakaria, a radicalised youth, is moving on a dangerous track. He meets Malik, who is carrying a dark secret.

Danmarks sønner stars Rasmus Bjerg, Mohammed Ismail Mohammed, and Zaki Youssef.

The film is backed by the Danish Film Institute’s New Danish Screen. Nordisk Film is handling the domestic release. The theatrical release is set for the 28th of March 2019.
