Two Swish Films to Appear at Tribeca

Ester Martin Bergsmark’s Something Must Break and Sofia Norlin’s Broken Hill Blues have been selected for Tribeca, one of the USA’s most important film festivals. Here is an overview of each film:

  • Something Must Break: This film will take place in the World Narrative Feature Competition. The screenplay is written by Bergsmark and Eli Levén, and the film is a love story between two young men who sun the mundane and are fearful of ending up like everyone else. The film received its world premiere when it opened at the Göteborg Film Festival in January and recently won the Tiger Award ad the Rotterdam Film Festival.
  • Broken Hill Blues: This is Norlin’s first feature film, and is about a coming of age story set in the far north of Sweden. It is the first film made courtesy of the grant for women directors instituted by the Stockholm Film Festival, and was recently in competition at the Berlin Film Festival.
