Two Nordic films to compete at the Transilvania International Film Festival

The competition line-up for the upcoming Transilvania International Film Festival has been announced, with two Nordic films selected among the twelve competing.

First is Winter Brothers, the Danish/Icelandic co-production directed by Hlynur Pálmason. Winter Brothers is described as a brother odyssey set in a worker environment during a cold winter. We follow two brothers, their routines, habits, rituals and a violent feud that erupts between them and another family.

The second film selected is the Danish thriller The Guilty from director Gustav Möller. Set entirely within an emergency call centre, The Guilty follows a police officer who has to try and figure out where a kidnapped woman has been taken, using nothing more than the phone in front of him.

On the jury is the Icelandic filmmaker Dagur Kari, perhaps best known for his film Virgin Mountain. The winner will receive the Transilvania Trophy on the 2nd of June.

The Transilvania International Film Festival will take place between the 25th of May and the 3rd of June in Romania.
