Two Finnish television series selected for MIP Buyer’s Summit

Two Finnish television series have been selected for the MIP Buyer’s Summit, which is held in Cannes in April, the Nordisk Film og TV Fond reports.

The first of the two series is Arctic Circle, a Finnish/German co-production that is currently shooting up in Lapland (check out some photos here). The series follows police officer Nina Kautsalo, who finds an unconscious woman chained up in a hut with a deadly virus in her blood. She recruits Thomas Lorenz, a German virologist, who heads to Lapland to investigate. The series will be released this Christmas.

The second television series is the political thriller Bullets, which follows undercover officer Mari Saari who has infiltrated the inner circle of a suicide bomber recruiter. The cast includes Krista Kosonen (Miami), Sibel Kekilli, Tommi Korpela, and Outi Mäenpää.

Six high-end dramas will be shown at the event on the 8th of April in 2018. The inaugural Cannes Series Festival runs from the 4th of April until the 11th of April 2018.
