TrustNordisk picks up Danish superhero thriller DARKLAND

The upcoming Danish superhero film Darkland, directed by Fenar Ahmad, has been picked up by TrustNordisk.

Darkland follows Zaid (Dar Salim, Borgen) as a successful surgeon who lives in a fancy apartment with his pregnant girlfriend. One night Zaid’s younger brother, Yasin, knocks on his door and asks his brother for money. Zaid refuses, and a few days later Yasin gets assaulted and killed. The police aren’t very helpful, so Zaid takes matters into his own hands. He feels forced to find out who did it to his brother and sets out on a mission to eliminate all the criminal gangs in Copenhagen. He disguises himself as an unofficial superhero character and takes on the criminal world. However, this continuous battle has consequences for himself and his family.

Darkland also features Stine Fischer Christensen (Under the Pyramid), Roland Møller (Land of Mine) and Dulfi Al-Jabouri (A War).

TrustNordisk has picked up the international sales rights, which hopefully means the film will be travelling to your country.

Darkland is due for local release in early 2017.
