Tommy Wirkola directing a new English-language film called ‘War Pigs’

The Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola has been attached to a new English-language film called War Pigs.

The film will star Mel Gibson and Colin Farrell and is about a group of disillusioned ex-marines who go on one last mission to get revenge on the cartel that murdered one of their own while making off with millions of dollars in drug money.

Tommy Wirkola is best known in Nordic film for his hit horror-comedy Dead Snow, which is about a group of Nazi Zombies attacking a group of Norwegian skiers. He has worked in the U.S. already with Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and the Netflix film What Happened to Monday?, which was a moderate success.

War Pigs will start production in October. Wirkola has no current plans to make a new Norwegian film.
