TOM OF FINLAND to be shot in Sweden


Dome Karukoski’s new film Tom of Finland will be shot in Gothenburg, Sweden, with Protagonist Pictures producing the film.

Tom of Finland tells the story of Laaksonen, who returns home to Helsinki after a military service during World War II. He is persecuted for his homosexuality, trapped in secret affairs, and pressured to get married to a woman. He discovers refuge and liberation in his art, sepcialising in homoerotic drawings of muscular men, and develops a worldwide following and helps build the gay revolution in the USA.

Pekka Strang has been announced as playing ‘Tom of Finland’.

Karukoski is known for Lapland Odyssey, The Grump and Heart of a Lion.

Tom of Finland is due for release around this time next year.
