Tom of Finland gets its first movie poster

The upcoming Finnish film, Tom of Finland, has had its first poster released.

The film tells the story of Finnish artist Touko Laaksonen, who was a prominent in the gay art scene and a pioneer of homoerotic fetish art and gay imagery. He was persecuted for his homosexuality and found escapism through art, which gave him the tools to express himself. Famous for drawing lascivious masculine figures in athletic poses dressed in leather, Laaksonen is considered one of the most influential figures in the late 20th century gay culture.

Tom of Finland is directed by Dome Karukoski with Pekka Strang in the lead role. The film will be in theatres in February 2017.
