Titanic 2018: Iceland in Focus

The Titanic International Film Festival will take place 4-13 April 2018 in Budapest. This year’s focus is Iceland, but Denmark and Norway will also be represented at one Hungary’s biggest film events.

The Titanic International Film Festival celebrates its 25th birthday in 2018 with 47 films screened at seven venues. Among them, there are Icelandic fiction and documentary films as the festival’s special guest is the tiny Nordic country this year.

Besides the short films entitled Munda (by Tinna Hrafnsdóttir), Cubs (by Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir), Whale Valley and Ártún (by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson), Ása Helga Hjörleifsdótirr’s The Swan (Svanurinn), Baltasar Kormákur’s The Oath (Eiðurinn), Dylan Howitt’s Out of Thin Air and Sævar Guðmundsson’s Inside a Volcano: The Rise of Icelandic Football will be screened as well.

Jonas Matzow Gulbrandsen’s Valley of Shadows (Skyggenes dal, Norway) and Milad Alami’s The Charmer (Denmark) have also been selected to the festival programme.
