Three Nordic films to screen in Rotterdam’s Tiger Section

Three exciting new Nordic films have been selected to screen at this year’s Tiger Competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

The festival runs from the 23rd of January unti lthe 3rd of February.

The films are:

Sons of Denmark (Denmark) – Directed by Ulaa Salim, the film is set one year after a major bomb attack in Copenhagen, with ethnic tensions running high around the country and a nationalist political leader set for a landslide victory. Against that backdrop, a 19-year-old becomes involved in a radical organisation, with grave consequences. Read more here

X&Y by Anna Odell – An artist has chosen a famous male actor for them together, in the context of a feature film, to deconstruct themselves and their invading roles. They engage in a boundless play with their surroundings in an exploration of identity, male and female.

The County by Grimur Hakonarson – A widowed farmer begins a new life on her own terms by fighting against corruption and injustice in her community.
