Third season of Gasmamman announced

A third season for the drama series Gasmamman (‘The Goose Mother’ in English) has been announced as the second season premieres on television, Cineuropa reports.

The series follows Sonja, who is married to Fredrik and the mother of three children. She lives peacefully in the suburbs, running her own accounting firm. To increase the family’s cash flow, the husband grows weed, something Sonja is aware of but wants nothing to do with. Everything changes when Fredrik is brutally murdered by the mafia and Sonja is being threatened to pay his debt.

The first season was watched by more than one million Swedes – the highest rated local drama on channel Kanal 5 for more than half a decade. The second season has launched and will also show on C More and Discovery Networks Sweden.

Gasmamman was originally a Dutch series titled Penoza and has also been remade as a US series, Red Widow.

The third season of Gasmamman will go into production in and around Stockholm and will premiere in late 2017.
