The young actors behind ‘Heartstone’ win in Morocco

The two young actors that star in the Icelandic film Heartstone (original title: Hjartasteinn), Baldur Einarsson and Blær Hinriksson, both won the Best Actor Prize at the Marrakech International Film Festival over the weekend.

Heartstone has been a festival favourite in the second half of this year, winning in Venice, Warsaw, the Nordic Film Days, and most importantly – the Cinema Scandinavia Awards.

The film takes place in a small fishing village in Iceland in the summer time. This is an emotional coming-of-age story about the strong friendship between two boys. One of them is in love with a young girl in the neighborhood, but the other one gradually discovers that his feelings for his friend are deeper than he had realized.
