The Swedish novels by Jens Lapidus will be adapted into a television series

Another Swedish crime series is coming.

The novels Top Dog by Jens Lapidus have been picked up by the production company Filmlance to be adapted into a new crime series, the Nordisk Film og TV Fond reports.

Jens Lapidus is known in Sweden as a criminal defence lawyer and is perhaps most famous for having written Easy Money, which was adapted into a film starring Joel Kinnaman. The three books in the ‘Teddy & Emilie’ trilogy are:

The novels are about the business lawyer Emily Jansson and a recently released convict, Teddy, who form an unlikely duo when a mysterious disappearance occurs.

The head writer of the series will be Veronica Zacco, who has previously worked on The Bridge season four, Farang and Thicker Than Water.

The series will use the third book at its core, but will also take elements from the first two novels.

No release date has been announced.
