The Square (2017)

Ruben Östlund‘s Palme d’Or-winning The Square has been selected to screen at the San Sebastian Film Festival next month.

In the aftermath of the abolition of the Monarchy of Sweden, the Stockholm Palace has been converted into an art museum. Christian is a curator at the museum, who finds his progressive world view shaken when his mobile phone is stolen. While managing a space set to show a new installation piece, he finds a public relations company to promote the installation, creating a great deal of chaos.

The festival has added many of the big winners from this year’s Cannes and Berlin film festivals. The Square has been selected to open the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera section.

The San Sebastian Film Festival runs from the 22nd of September until the 30th of September in Spain.
