THE SNOWMAN to be filmed in Oslo

For the last few months we have been sitting ring-side to the drama that unfolded about where the English-language cinematic adaptation of Harry Hole’s The Snowman will be shot. In case you don’t remember, Sweden came out and said that they’d host the film as Oslo was too expensive.

However, since then Norway has announced new funding initiatives in a drive to bring more international productions to Oslo. This makes it actually affordable to make a film in Norway, and just last week rumours were sparking up again about whether or not this will bring The Snowman to its rightful home.

On Wednesday Norwegian broadcaster NRK announced that The Snowman will be shot in Oslo – with production to start in January. Swedish co-producer Piodor Gustafsson said that ‘Harry Hole never stood in danger of being Swedish’  and that the exterior Norwegian scenes will play a vital role.

The rumour mills have now cast their eyes on who will play the iconic character – with many saying that Michael Fassbender will take the role.

Who would you like to see play Harry Hole?
