THE OATH now available in the United States

Baltasar Kormákur’s latest film, The Oath, has been released in the United States!

A mixture of Taken meets Nordic Noir, The Oath stars Kormákuras Finnur, a father who tries to rescue his adult daughter, Anna (Hera Hilmar, Life in a Fishbowl), from the dark underworld of Reykjavik. In order to do so, he must remove her from her boyfriend, Ottar (Gísli Örn Garðarsson). The two clash over Anna, and Finnur decides to take matters into his own hands.

The Oath ticks all the boxes: it’s distinctly Nordic without reaching into the art world, and Baltasar Kormákur shines as lead actor, writer, director, and producer. After spending much of 2016 screening at coveted festivals like the Toronto International Film Festival and the Nordic Film Days, Americans can now find the film in select cinemas around the country. To find tickets close to you, a website has been set up and you can view it here: https://www.theoathtickets.com/

Even better, the film will be released on iTunes this Friday and it’s possible to preorder it. To do so, click here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/the-oath-2016/id1272069536
