The Nordic ‘Producers on the Move’

Over the past week, announcements for the upcoming Cannes Film Festival have been attracting all the attention in the international cinema crowd. Nordic films have already been gaining a lot of attention for their films competing at the festival, notably Joachim Trier’s Louder Than Bombs & the Icelandic film Rams

The most recent announcement has been the ‘Producers on the Move’ category. But what is it?

Producers on the Move is a part of Cannes where twenty of the biggest emerging producers from across Europe are selected to participate in a networking platform for producers at the festival. The aim of the initiative is to assist European producers in finding partners for upcoming project and strengthen the European film industry.

Now who are the Nordic producers heading to Cannes?

In Finland, we have Mikko Tenhunen, who has produced many Finnish films including Uncle Vanya Distractions.

In Iceland, Heather Millard will be heading to Cannes. She has already produced a number of productions including The WallTrend Beacons. 

For Norway, the selection is Kjetil Omberg, known for Dead Snow Dead Snow II

For Sweden, we have Annika Rogell, known for her work on My Skinny Sister & Black Power Mixtape
