Norway’s annual television awards, the Gullruten (Golden Screen), has announced its nominees for 2017.
The big nominees of the awards are the phenomenon Skam and the political thriller series Nobel, which stars Aksel Hennie.
In Nobel, two stories carefully intertwine as a returning soldier and family man becomes a pawn in a political international game. As the stakes grow higher, he is forced to discover just how far he has to go in the name of peace. Nobel recently won the first-ever TV Script Prize at the Gothenburg Film Festival back in February.
Another big nominee is the series Valkyrien (which will premiere on Walter Presents in the UK soon), which premiered on Norwegian television back in January. Valkyrien centres on a doctor who runs an illegal, underground clinic in an old bomb shelter, where he treats criminals, emergency patients, and others who can’t or won’t seek medical help in a regular hospital.
