The Swedish/Egyptian film The Nile Hilton Incident has taken away multiple awards at the Valladolid International Film Festival in Spain.

The film won Best Film, Director and Screenplay.

The Nile Hilton Incident is a crime film about police corruption in Egypt set against the 2011 Tahrir Square protests. The film stars Scandinavian actor Fares Fares, who is most famous for his leading role in the Department Q films.

The Valladolid International Film Festival is one of the most important festivals for independent cinema in Spain.

Director Tarik Saleh is currently working on season two of the break-out series Westworld.
