The Match Factory to showcase Bergman documentary at Cannes

German sales agency The Match Factory will be bringing Bergman, a new Ingmar Bergman documentary, to the Cannes Film Festival.

If at this point you’re thinking “hey, Cinema Scandinavia! You’ve written about this already!” you would be confused with another Ingmar Bergman documentary that was announced earlier this week.

July 2018 marks 100 years since the birth of Bergman, and as such, the event is being marked with a series of events, films and television drama.

Bergman, directed by Jane Magnusson, is a documentary that will make up part of the celebrations. The documentary will be able as a feature film and a television series and is one of the most comprehensive documentaries about the director, whose work has included everyone including David Lynch, Woody Allena nd Martin Scorsese. It will look in detail at his career, particularly his immensely productive period in 1957.
