The Legacy Best TV Drama At Danish TV Awards

DR Fiktion’s hit series The Legacy (Arvingerne) was handed out the ‘Best TV Drama Award’ as well as the ‘Viewers Award’ at Friday night’s annual TV Prisen or Danish TV Awards ceremony held at Copenhagen’s Tivoli Congress Centre. Directed by Pernilla August and created by author Maya Ilsøe, the family drama was DR’s most viewed in-house TV drama since 2008.

Meanwhile Joshua Oppenheimer’s Oscar-nominated The Act of Killing produced by Final Cut for Real for DR K won Best Documentary of the year. Both The Legacy and The Act of Killing were supported by Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Friday’s TV-Prisen ceremony was a triumphal night for the Danish pubcaster that collected 21 out of 28 awards. DR’s recently launched channel DR3 targeting the younger audience particularly distinguished itself by winning eight awards.
