THE KINGS CHOICE to have world premiere in Bergen

Erik Poppe’s new film The King’s Choice is set to open the Bergen International Film Festival on the 20th of September.

The King’s Choice takes place during the three dramatic days in April 1940 where the German’s are advancing to Norway, and Norway’s King Haakon must decide whether or not to fight or to surrender. The Royal Family end up splitting up, with Princess Martha heading to Sweden and King Haakon and Crown Prince Olav remaining in Norway to continue the fight. However, after three days Haakon has to make a tough decision regarding his country’s future.

The film stars experienced Danish actor Jesper Christensen, who is known today for his role in The Legacy. He stars alongside Anders Baasmo Christensen who plays Prince Olav.


The local premiere will be on the 23rd of September, and no international release dates have been announced yet.
