‘The Bridge’ to be adapted in Asia

The Danish/Swedish crime series The Bridge will be adapted in Asia.

The series will take place on the border between Malaysia and Singapore. Much like the Scandi version, a body will be found on the border, forcing investigators from both sides to solve the crime. It will also address social issues from both countries.

The cast is yet to be announced, but it will use both languages of the countries. Production is set to start in July, and it will be available to stream in Malaysia and Singapore later this year. The pan-Asian streaming service Viu is also producing.

The Bridge has become a huge global success. It has been adapted into three other series: one between the UK and France, one between the US and Mexico, and one between Germany and Austria.
