The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared

Swedish film The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared has been nominated for Best Makeup & Hair at the Academy Awards (Oscars).

The film, which had over 1.6 million Swedes watch it, is a comedy that follows the life of Allan Karlsson, who goes on an unexpected journey while telling stories of his younger days. The film is based on a novel and is directed by Felix Herngren.

On the 9th of January 2016 the members of the Oscar Academy Artists & Hairstylists category will view a ten minute excerpt of each of the nominated films and then choose the three that will compete.

The other films are:

Black Mass;

Concussion;

Legend;

Mad Max: Fury Road;

Mr. Holmes;

The Revenant.

The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared is produced by Nice Flxpictures in co-production with Film West. The film won the audience Guldbagge Award in 2014.
