Swedish TV series ‘Hamilton’ getting a reboot

The Swedish spy thriller series Hamilton is getting a reboot, thanks to Swedish TV channel TV4-C More. Two seasons of the series will be made and will be based on the iconic book series by Jan Guillou.

In the first season, we’ll follow the personal journey of the Swedish spy Carl Hamilton, on his first assignment in Europe, as he gets caught up in a web of lies and his mental sanity is put to the test.

Hamilton will be co-produced by Dramacorp and IRLC. Dramacorp’s Managing Director Patrick Nebout is executive producer together with his colleague Mia Sohlman. Norway’s Petter S. Roselund (The Heavy Water War) is head writer.

Hamilton will be shot in English, Swedish and other languages in order to respect the authenticity of the show.

Filming will start in 2017 and season one will be shown on the streaming service C More before heading to TV.

This isn’t the first time the Hamilton series has been adapted for the screen. A mini-series was released in 2001 with Peter Stormare in the leading role. In 2012, the feature film Hamilton: In the Nations Interest was released, with Mikael Persbrandt playing Hamilton (pictured).
