Swedish short film wins in Greece

The Swedish short film Fig has received the award for Best Short Film by the Hellenic Film Academy at an awards ceremony in Athens on the 28th of March.

Nicolas Kolovos is the director behind Fig, which follows the story of Eleni, who on her deathbed asks for figs. Her husband, Kostas, makes his way to the nearest fig tree and climbs up, but he falls down and breaks his foot. Time is scares and Kostas is old. Carrying a fig, he endures a physical struggle through the harsh nature to get home and fulfill his wife’s dying wish.

The film is produced by Olle Wirenhed for Göta Film AB, with support from Swedish Film Institute film commissioner Andreas Fock.
