Swedish sci-fi ‘Aniara’ heading to the United Kingdom

The Swedish science fiction film Aniara has been picked up for distribution in the United Kingdom, Screen reports. 

Aniara tells the story of a ship carrying settlers to the planet Mars. However, the ship is knocked off course and the consumption-obsessed passengers are forced to consider their place in the universe.

The film is adapted from the story by Swedish Nobel Prize-winner Harry Martinson. Aniara stars Emilie Jonsson, Arvin Kananian, and Bianca Cruzeiro.

Arrow Films will distribute the film in the U.K. Magnolia has picked up the U.S. rights to the film, so it will also be distributed there.
