Swedish director Colin Nutley announces his next project

The Swedish director Colin Nutley has announced his next creative project, which will be a television series called Wedding, Funeral & Baptism (Bröllop, begravning och dop in Swedish).

The series follows two families who meet at a wedding in a small Swedish town, and an event happens that leads them to a funeral and a baptism.

Helena Bergström leads the cast alongside Maria Lundqvist, Molly Nutley, Angelika Prick, and Alexander Karim (the new series The Lawyer).

Colin Nutley is originally from the United Kingdom but has made a name for himself in Sweden. His 1992 film House of Angels (Änglagård) is highly regarded in Sweden and often listed as one of the first films in contemporary Swedish cinema. The film, which is about how the death of a recluse brings Fanny to his mansion in a small Swedish town, which shakes up the lives of the villagers due to her and her friend Zac’s punk-like appearance and attitude. The film is often considered to be an excellent example of how Swedes depict their rural countryside against the typical city-slickers. The film starred Helena Bergström, too.

Nutley is also married to Bergström, so the two often collaborate together. They famously worked together on Heartbreak Hotel, a comedy from 2005 that follows two women who cavort their way through Stockholm’s nightlife and examine their relationships with men.

Wedding, Funeral & Baptism will be released on CMore in 2019, and will later air on TV4.
