Swedish and Norwegian films to be screened in Cuba

A new film festival called the Contemporary Norwegian and Swedish Film Festival will be screened as part of the International Festival of Video-art of Camaguey between the 7th and 10th of April.

The festival will contain successful Norwegian and Swedish features and shorts.

Cultural attaché of the Swedish embassy in Havana Mayralina Trespado Rams told the Prensa Latina news agency that for the first time, the embassies of Sweden and Norway organize a joint program of films in Cuba.

This festival was outlined by the two embassies, the Film Archive of Cuba and the Institute of Film Art and Industry.

Some of the films screening are The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed out the Window and Disappeared and Pioneer.

Representatives of the Swedish embassy and Norwegian ambassador in Cuba John Petter Opdahl are expected to attend the opening ceremony on April 7th.
