The Swedish production company Svensk Filmindustri has developed a new global strategy in which it will produce more English-language thrillers with Scandinavian talent.

The production company has three projects in development with France’s StudioCanal: an English-language remake of Easy Money, Jens Jonsson’s Ibiza: The White Island, and The Horizon Line.

The Horizon Line is set to be directed by Babak Najafi and is a thriller following a couple on a small aeroplane that loses its way over the Pacific Ocean. The film will go into production in autumn, and is produced by Fredrik Wikström Nicastro, with Svensk CEO Jonas Fors serving as executive producer.

Svensk Filmindustri has also appointed Australian producer Tim King as executive vice-president of production Sweden, and Danish producer Lars Bredo Rahbek as head of production Denmark.
