Susanne Bier’s THE NIGHT MANAGER back for season two

Danish director Susanne Bier has revealed that the script for the second season of The Night Manager is being developed for BBC and AMC.

Bier told the publication Broadcast that “We all very much want to do a season two but the thing we absolutely do not want is to do something that does not live up to the level of season one. That would be a really bad idea.”

The Night Manager follows military man-turned hotel manager Jonathan Pine, played by Tom Hiddleston, who infiltrates the inner circle of an arms dealer, played by Hugh Laurie.

Meanwhile, Bier is working on a television adaptation of Sydney Pollack’s Oscar-winning drama Out of Africa from London-based Heyday Television. The series will be based on the memoir Out of Africa by Danish author Karen Blixen, played by Meryl Streep in the 1985 film.
