Susanne Bier to direct HBO series ‘The Undoing’

The Danish director Susanne Bier has had a successful international career since her Academy Award-winning film In a Better World, and now she is going to direct a television series for HBO.

Called The Undoing, the series is a psychological thriller about a successful therapist with a devoted husband and young son who, just before the publication of her book, has to deal with a violent death and missing husband and create a new life for herself and her child.

Bier’s previous television project was for the BBC, The Night Manager, and she is just about to release a film, Bird Box, on Netflix. Bier won the Primetime Emmy for directing all six episodes of The Night Manager.

Nicole Kidman will star in The Undoing, which is based on the novel You Should Have Known by Jean Hanff Korelitz.
