Stars of ‘Klown’ franchise to release new film

The two Danish comedians known for the Klown television series and Klown Forever film, Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam, are returning to the big screen with Dan Dream.

New details about the film have been released in an article from CineuropaDan Dream is described as “a genuine Danish fairy tale about courage, community and big dreams, following a group of dreamers who set out to develop the world’s first electric car.” The story is inspired by press photos from the 1983 presentation of the Danish electric car Hope Whisper, which crashed during the press conference at Copenhagen’s Forum.

The film is set in the 80’s and is connected to the famous Law of Jante, which is a set of rules outlining Scandinavian attitudes in life. One example is ‘you are not to think you are better than anyone’. The rules were introduced in the 1933 novel A Fugitive Crosses His Tracks by Norwegian author Aksel Sandemose.

Dan Dream is directed by Jesper Rofelt, shot on the island of Funen, and will be released in Denmark on the 30th of March.

Absolutely. Like to see this in Melbourne, Australia. I’m sure Cinema Nova or MIFF would be interested.
