The Danish actress Sofie Gråbøl will play a major role in season two of the Swedish television series Our Time is Now (Vår tid är nu).
Season one was set on the day of peace in Europe in 1945 and the second season will be set in December 1955.
Season one was a huge hit, with over two million viewers watching per episode. Season two will be released in autumn and will see the return of the cast, including Suzanne Reuter, Adam Lundgren, Hedda Stiernstedt, Peter Dalle, Mattias Nordkvist, Charlie Gustafsson, Josefin Neldén and Ida Engvoll.
Gråbøl will play the role of Henriette Winter. While we don’t know much about her character, she will feature in a number of new episodes.
Writer Ulf Kvensler explained to Expressen why they are setting season two in 1955:
“We chose the moment it was a milestone in restaurant history – that’s when the Brattsystem was abolished. You now have to buy how much beer, wine and spirits you wanted on Systembolaget. Previously, one had to go to a restaurant to get more alcohol than his ration, so when the Brattsystem disappeared, it became a bit of a crisis for the restaurant industry. Part of this we will also see in a Danish restaurant.”
