SF Studios begins principal photography on BORG/MCENROE

The upcoming biopic Borg/McEnroe has commenced principal photography.

The film tells the story of one of the greatest rivalries in sport. It follows one of the worlds greatest icons, Björn Borg, and his biggest rival, the young and talented John McEnroe. It’s a story of two men that became legends in the sport of tennis and the price they had to pay.

This is the largest pan-Scandinavian production in decades and consists of a dynamic and impressive mix of actors. Acclaimed Sverrir Gudnason stars as Björn Borg and will play against Shia LaBeouf portraying John McEnroe. Stellan Skarsgård is returning to Swedish film after ten years to play Lennart ‘Labbe’ Bergelin. The role of Björn’s girlfriend Mariana, will be taken on by internationally acclaimed Swedish actress Tuva Novotny.

Borg/McEnroe is directed by Janus Metz, director of the Cannes-winning feature documentary Armadillo, as well as episodes of the acclaimed television series True Detective.

Shooting is expected to take place in Gothenburg, Prague, London and Monaco.
