Series two of TRAPPED begins shooting in Iceland

Season two of the popular Icelandic television series Trapped has begun shooting in Iceland.

Series creator Baltasar Kormákur hinted at what the second season would involve to the Icelandic state broadcaster RÚV, saying that they were “starting with 40 dead sheep. There is a protest about power plants and the potential construction of an aluminum smelter. And it is here in the square in Siglufjörður (the setting of Trapped) and farmers are crazy. And this launches an event that can not handle the end.”

Icelandic crime novelist  Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, whose I Remember You was released as a film earlier this year, has joined the team as a writer, which could mean a darker second series.

Trapped will premiere in Iceland in autumn 2018. No international release has been confirmed, but considering the success of season one, we’re sure it’ll come soon.
