See the trailer for Baltasar Kormákur’s new film ‘Adrift’

The trailer for Baltasar Kormákur‘s film Adrift has been released.

Starring Shailene Woodley and Sam Clafin, the film is based-on-a-true-story as it follows free-spirited sailors Tami Oldham and Richard Sharp who set out on a journey across the ocean, however they sail into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in history.

Kormákur had his U.S. breakthrough with Everest, a similarly themed movie but on Mt Everest instead of the ocean. Adrift does look fairly similar to Everest, and it shows that Kormákur certainly understands the genre.

Adrift will be released on the 1st of June.

Back in Iceland, Kormákur is currently working on season two of Trapped
