A second season of the Norwegian television series State of Happiness has been confirmed, Variety reports.
The first season has premiered at Canneseries this week, with a Norwegian premiere set for the near future. The series is set in Stavanger in 1969 and follows four young characters who come from different backgrounds and are thrown into a whirlwind of opportunity during the oil boom which turned Norway into one of the world’s most prosperous countries.
The second season will set the action five years later and will bring back the cast, which stars British actor Bart Edwards as well as newcomers Anne Regine Ellingsæter Malene Wadel and Amund Harboe.
State of Happiness is written by Mette M. Bølstad and costs a whopping 10 million Euros.
