Ruben Östlund planning new film

Not long after winning the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival, Ruben Östlund has announced he is planning a new film.

Titled Triangle of Sadness, the project will be a satire set against the backdrop of the fashion world. The term refers to one used by plastic surgeons to fix wrinkles between the eyes with Botox in fifteen minutes.

The film will follow two protagonists facing different complications: the male model suddenly starts balding and sees his prospects shrink, while the female model is a lesbian and spurns rich men’s lavish offers. The two models are searching fro a smooth exit out of the fashion business.

The majority of the film will take place in a luxurious yacht hotels and no other international locations. It will be partly shot in English.

His Palme d’Or winning film The Square is still set to have a theatrical release.

Aside from developing Triangle of Sadness, Ostlund recently finished writing his first TV pilot for a series project titled You Know That Weekend You Were Away With The Kids?, an English-language comedy about adultery.
