Roland Møller and Claes Bang to star in ‘Lyrebird’

The Danish actors Roland Møller and Claes Bang have been confirmed to be starring in the new film Lyrebird, which will be produced by Ridley Scott.

Lyrebird tells the true story of Dutch folk hero Han Van Meegeren, who swindled millions of dollars from the Nazis by selling them forgeries of Johannes Vermeer paintings and is considered the most successful art forger of all time.

Claes Bang is known for his breakout role in Ruben Östlund’s The Square, which won the Palme d’Or in 2017. Roland Møller has started in a large number of Danish films and television series, including Land of Mine and Northwest. He has shifted over to American cinema and has had roles in films like The Commuter and Atomic Blonde.

The Danes star alongside Guy Pearce and Vicky Krieps.

The script has been written by Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby and John Orloff, with Dan Friedkin directing.

No release date has been announced.
