Record-breaking opening for The Heavy Water War

The Norwegian World War 2 epic is off to an outstanding start. Since the premiere on January 4th, the first four episodes have attracted more than 1.2 million viewers each, which accounts for an average market share of over 60 %. When adding the numbers from play services, reruns etc. the ratings for the first two episodes increase even more – up to an outstanding 1.8 millionviewers. This makes it the strongest opening for a Norwegian series ever.
The Heavy Water War is a six part dramatization of one of the most exciting stories from the Second World War – the Nazi’s efforts to develop an atom bomb and the Allies’ desperate struggle to prevent it from happening. The series is available worldwide excluding Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Iceland, Poland, Spain, US and the territories of former YU excl. Slovenia.
