Press Release: Thomas Vinterberg’s ‘The Commune’ Sold Internationally
TrustNordisk has sold Vinterberg’s anticipated upcoming drama THE COMMUNE to Spain (Golem Distribución), Switzerland (Praesens-Film AG), Korea (Challan), Russia (Silver Box), Estonia (EstinFilm) and Romania (Independenta Film).
Previously announced deals include France (Le Pacte), UK (Artificial Eye), Germany and Austria (Prokino Filmverleih GmbH), Benelux (September Film), Greece/Cyprus (Seven Films), Czech/Slovakia (Film Europe), Former Yugoslavia (MCF Megacom Film), Poland (Gutek Film Ltd.), Brazil (California Filmes) and Hungary (Vertigo Media Ltd.).

Written by Thomas Vinterberg and Tobias Lindholm who also wrote Vinterberg’s previous films SUBMARINO (2010) and THE HUNT (2012) together, THE COMMUNE tells a story about the clash between personal desires vs. solidarity and tolerance in a commune in the 70’s.
THE COMMUNE is produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Morten Kaufmann for Zentropa Entertainments19 in co-operation with Toolbox Film, co-produced by Film I Väst, Zentropa International Sweden, Topkapi Films and Zentropa International Netherlands with support from Danish Film Institute, DR, Eurimages, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, The Netherlands Film Fund, Swedish Film Institute and the MEDIA programme of the European Union.
