NRK prepares new drama based around Norwegian terrorist attack

Norwegian pubcaster NRK has announced it is making a television series about the country’s reaction to the 2011 attacks by far-right extremist Anders Behring Breivik.

Titled 22 July, the series will revolve around stories of those who were affected by the attack, which killed almost 80 people in two separate attacks in Oslo and the island of Utoya.

Fictional characters will be used the series, but a lot of research is going into what happened during and after the attack. The series will not feature Breivik.

The series is due to shoot in March 2018 and will air in late 2019.
