Norwegian WWII drama THE 12TH MAN sold around the world

The Norwegian World War II drama The 12th Man has been picked up by IFC Films for North American distribution, Screen reports.

The war survival film is based on the true story of a Norwegian resistance fighter who escaped the Nazis. Jan Baalsrud was on a resistance fighting mission in March 1943 when his 11 Norwegian comrades were captured and killed. He managed to escape and travelled across Norway’s frozen wilderness for nine weeks. The cast features Thomas Gullestad, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Marie Blokhus and Mads Sjøgård Pettersen and is directed by Harald Zwart. The film is being released in Norway on Christmas Day.

The 12th Man has also been sold to Italy, Korea, China, Turkey, Estonia/Baltics, the German-speaking parts of Europe, Former Yugoslavia and the Czech and Slovak Republics.
