Norwegian vampire film to premiere at the Norwegian Int’l Film Festival

The horror comedy Vidar the Vampire will premiere during the Norwegian International Film Festival next month in Haugesund, Norway.

The film follows typical genre conventions but with an energetic twist and innovation.

The story is about Vidar Hårr, who is a thirty-three sexually frustrated bachelor farmer enduring a Christian, monotonous and arduous life working at his mother’s farm. In a desperate appeal to the higher powers, Vidar prays for help to break out of his routine and live a life without restrictions. Unfortunately, his prayers are heard, and one night Vidar wakes up as a prince of darkness in Stavanger, the city of sins.

Vidar the Vampire is part of a new wave of enthusiasts emerging from the Stavanger region, which is just south of Haugesund.

Vidar the Vampire is produced by UFOh! from Stavanger. The premiere is set for the 23rd of August.

Cinema Scandinavia will be covering the Norwegian International Film Festival in 2017.
