Norwegian TV series Eyewitness gets British release date

The Norwegian television series Eyewitness is going to be released in the United Kingdom at the end of this month.

The series starts with two teenage boys, Philip and Henning, who share an unexpected intimacy at a remote sand quarry in the Norwegian countryside. Their secret meeting is interrupted by a brutal gang murder, which they both witness. Though they manage to escape, the killer has seen them. Haunted and hunted, they make a pact to never reveal what they’ve experienced. However, their secret and the lies they tell to keep it has spiralling repercussions for them and their entire community. Local chief of police Helen Sikkeland (Anneke von der Lippe) reluctantly takes on the case as she is Philip’s foster mother.

Anneke von der Lippe won an International Emmy for her performance in the series.

The series has been remade in the USA already, so it’s nice to enjoy the original!

Eyewitness will screen on Channel 4 on the 30th of March.
